DeMarre Carroll, 31, is a forward for the Brooklyn Nets. Raised in Birmingham, Ala., and currently living in Brooklyn and Atlanta, Mr. Carroll is known for his bright shirts and colorful ensembles off the court. “Growing up, my mother always used to put us in loud sweatsuits and everything matched down to the shoes,” he said. “It’s still with me. I have to match from head to toe.” Here are some favorites from his closet.
1. SHIRT
I’m more a fitted button-down type of guy. I like those by Dolce & Gabbana because they fit me. I’m 6-foot-8, and the new trend now is a snug fit that’s a little short — it’s European cut — so I can buy off the rack. As for colors and patterns, most people would say that I’m a vibrant guy with loud colors and things that catch the eye. That’s always been my style.
2. JEANS
With my jeans, I’m actually more subtle. One of the best brands that fit me is JBrand. I usually wear dark blue and black, definitely slim fit. I don’t go crazy. My shoes and my shirt really do most of the justice for me.
