David, who met Judi when he asked her to open the new badger enclosure at his Surrey zoo in 2010, looked suave in a black suit and bow tie.

He even paid special attention to the ball’s Out Of Africa theme dress code and added a splash of colour with an animal print belt.

Joining Judi, who is a legacy ambassador for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation who organise the event, was Eastenders actress Pam St Clement.

She also opted for a stylish black ensemble which she brightened up with a red scarf adorned with zebras.

Victoria wore her locks curly and let them cascade over her shoulders as she toted a small black bag.

The Wildlife Ball is in aid of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and a standard table for 12 people costs £2,400.

VIP tables will set guests back £5,000 while individual tickets for the annual event are £220 per person.

Ahead of the event, where Judi also spoke last year, the foundation wrote on their website to advice people of what to wear.

They said: ‘In celebration of our work in one of the world’s most incredible continents, we are delighted to announce that our theme this year is Out Of Africa.

‘We hope that you will enter into the spirit of the theme by wearing a dash of African colour, pattern and flair on the night.’
